The collapse of American civilization does weird things to our sense of time. The Grammy Awards were only a month ago? Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show was, too? Feels like forever. Regardless, and maybe because of those high-profile events sucking up all the oxygen, February was a slow month for new music. (Oh, yeah, I guess there was a new Drake album, right?) Which makes it a good chance to look at some top-notch albums from a few veteran artists who still feel like discoveries and don’t quite fit under any easy labels.
