Gillian Welch and David Rawlings Talk to Jason Isbell

Welch and Rawlings met at the Berklee College of Music in the 1990s and moved to Nashville soon afterward. In 2001, they took over and restored Woodland Studios, a former 1920s movie house where the legendary engineer Glenn Snoddy recorded everyone from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band to Neil Young in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
