Finding a quarterback in the NFL feels impossible for the same reason dating is so hard these days: NFL quarterbacks are men, and a lot of men are trash.
Not all men, of course. The Chiefs have Patrick Mahomes. The Bills have Josh Allen. The Texans just found C.J. Stroud. Those pairings are a reminder that true football love exists. But the handful of happy couples obscure that a lot of the other guys are worse than you think. You just don’t realize it because you don’t have to deal with their nonsense. For every quarterback fairy tale like the Chiefs have with Mahomes, there are the Desmond Ridders and Derek Carrs; a Mac Jones and a Daniel Jones; a Zach Wilson, a Nick Mullens, and a Jaren Hall.
